A completely renovated cottage in 2023 in burgundy Limburg (BE). The cottage is located on the vacation park the Sonnevijver in Rekem, on the edge of the national park the Hoge Kempen. There are also nice cities a short distance away. For example, the center of Maastricht is a 10-minute drive away and shopping center Maasmechelen village is a 15-minute drive away.
The cottage including the garden and 2 private parking spaces is fully available for guests. There is a fire bowl to roast marshmallows over the fire in the evening, a tandem bike for the sporty guests, a guitar, radio, LP player and LP records for the musical guests and a TV for the guests who want to relax on the couch in the evening.
There are 2 bedrooms and the cottage can accommodate a maximum of 4 persons and 1 pet. More guests (max 2 extra guests) and pets can be accommodated upon request.
The Sonnevijver
Vacation park the Sonnevijver offers several facilities. For example, there are several ponds/lakes including a swimming lake and a fishing pond. At the swimming lake there is a small playground for children. Next to the park there is a brand new indoor playground "the Elfenbos" with accompanying brasserie "the Pitstop". The brasserie can be reached from the park and here there is also a small outdoor playground.
The Hoge Kempen. This beautiful nature reserve can be reached from several points and is located near the vacation park. This nature reserve is the first National Park in Belgium! It is a unique nature reserve where more than 12 000 ha of natural beauty is managed and protected. Extensive pine forests alternate with purple flowering heather and shifting dunes, large lakes bear witness to gravel and sand extraction, high peaks offer magnificent views, .... Numerous rare and unusual animals live in this natural setting. The National Park is there both to protect nature and for human recreation. Hikers will find what they are looking for on the 440km of hiking trails, cyclists can enjoy themselves on the cycle path network, mountain bikers have 200km of unpaved trails at their disposal, and horseback riders can enjoy an extensive equestrian network. Something for everyone! The huge nature reserve has 9 gateways. These are places at the edge of the National Park with all the necessary facilities such as a large parking lot, information boards, catering, toilets, etc.
