The Hoge Kempen. This beautiful nature reserve can be reached from several points and is located near the vacation park. This nature reserve is the first National Park in Belgium! It is a unique nature reserve where more than 12 000 ha of natural beauty is managed and protected. Extensive pine forests alternate with purple flowering heather and shifting dunes, large lakes bear witness to gravel and sand extraction, high peaks offer magnificent views, .... Numerous rare and unusual animals live in this natural setting. The National Park is there both to protect nature and for human recreation. Hikers will find what they are looking for on the 440km of hiking trails, cyclists can enjoy themselves on the cycle path network, mountain bikers have 200km of unpaved trails at their disposal, and horseback riders can enjoy an extensive equestrian network. Something for everyone! The huge nature reserve has 9 gateways. These are places at the edge of the National Park with all the necessary facilities such as a large parking lot, information boards, catering, toilets, etc.
